Study Shows Positive Side Effect of Breast Augmentation Surgery

People have believed this to be true for years and now there is a study that backs up the claim: Women who have Breast Augmentation surgery are more satisfied with their appearance, their self-image and sexual and psychosocial well-being.

The study, “Analysis of Satisfaction and Well-Being in the Short Follow-up from Breast Augmentation Using the BREAST-Q, a Validated Survey Instrument,” is one of the first of its kind to analyze patient-reported satisfaction and quality of life following Breast Augmentation. The survey instrument that was used in the study is the only one for Breast Augmentation that meets federal and international questionnaire development standards.

Breast Augmentation continues to be the most popular cosmetic surgical procedure for women. In fact, in 2011 alone there were 316,848 procedures done in the United States.

Breast Augmentation is performed to reconstruct breasts after breast removal or to increase breast size using either silicone or saline (salt water) implants. Both types of implants are considered to be safe and can be sized to fit the woman’s body proportion or lifestyle choices.

Because breasts are such an outward sign of femininity and sexuality, it is no surprise that breast implants are now proven to provide women more self-esteem. If you are unhappy with the size of your breasts and are considering breast augmentation surgery, please contact Dr. Fan at 77 Plastic Surgery  to schedule a Breast Augmentation Consultation so we can determine if this procedure might be right for you.
