What is a Cosmetic Self-Evaluation?

A Cosmetic Self-Evaluation is an interactive online tool to help you determine if you are a good candidate for a cosmetic procedure. While this is not a substitute for a full Cosmetic Consultation from an experienced plastic surgeon, it is a great first step in the plastic surgery research process.

The Self-Evaluation will allow you to select areas of concern, such as your face, breasts/chest, back, arms, abdomen, genitalia, buttocks, thighs or lower legs. It asks you to explain why you are considering either a surgical or non-invasive procedure. Answer choices may include statements such as, “I would like to…

  • Look younger
  • Revitalize my appearance
  •  Make a physical change
  • Improve my health

The Self-Evaluation may also take into effect your current medical health and your medical history.
When all of the details are submitted, the Evaluation tallies the information and provides an immediate, personalized result as to which procedure(s) might produce the results you desire. You may be surprised at the outcome! You can use this information to further research your options or as back-up information to share during your full Cosmetic Consultation with a surgeon.

Dr. Fan at 77 Plastic Surgery in San Fransisco offers a free Cosmetic Self-Evaluation on his website at 77plasticsurgery.com. If you are considering a cosmetic procedure, we encourage you to take the quick assessment to see what might be best for your unique situation.

Celebrate Self-Improvement Month

September is Self-Improvement Month. This is the perfect time to rally for your own cause, whether that is becoming more physically fit, improving your personal relationships, achieving a well-deserved job promotion, learning a new language or whatever interests you.

This is also the perfect time to pursue plastic surgery or cosmetic treatments if you have been thinking about enhancing your physical appearance. Cosmetic surgery can make you look younger or give you a shapelier silhouette. It can restore self-confidence that has been temporarily lost due to the effect of pregnancies, weight gain/loss, accidents or trauma, aging or other factors.

There are both surgical and non-surgical methods to achieve different results. Sometimes patients are surprised to learn how many options there are when it comes to enhancing their appearance.

Dr. Fan at 77 Plastic Surgery in San Fransisco offers free Cosmetic Consultations to help direct people toward the right cosmetic procedures. The Consultation allows Dr. Fan to clearly define the physical appearance aspects you wish to change, what your goals are and what your expectations are after surgery.

After examining your medical condition, he can make recommendations on the best course of action for your unique situation.

Take the first step toward physical self-improvement. Contact 77 Plastic Surgery today at 77plasticsurgery.com or 415-655-7546 to schedule your free Cosmetic Consultation.

Cosmetic Surgery Joke of the Day

In honor of National Tell a Joke Day on August 16, here’s a good one from comedienne/actress Rita Rudner:

"I was going to have cosmetic surgery until I noticed that the doctor's office was full of portraits by Picasso."

We admit this is pretty funny, but it also has an element of truth to it! When you research plastic surgeons, you need to take a lot of different factors into consideration, including:
·         The doctor’s medical training, certifications and professional organization affiliations
·         The doctor’s real world experience with the procedure you are considering
·         The doctor’s demeanor (do you feel a good rapport with him?)
·         The doctor’s confidence level
·         Your confidence in the doctor’s cosmetic artistry
·         The availability of “before-and-after” photos of the doctor’s past work
·         The friendliness and proficiency of the office and support staff
·         The cleanliness and comfort of the office (even the office décor!)

You should never choose a cosmetic surgeon based solely on someone else’s recommendation. You should feel 100% confident in each one of the factors listed above by doing your own research before you put your trust into any doctor.

You can learn all about Dr. Fan at 77 Plastic Surgery by scheduling your Cosmetic Consultation in San Fransisco. Not only will you find out which type of procedure might produce the results you desire, you will also have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you want about Dr. Fan's credentials. Don’t Worry, It’s Happy Month

We recently heard that August is “Admit You’re Happy” month. While this may not be a widely-celebrated holiday, our thought is that it can’t hurt to focus on the good things in life for a while.

At 77 Plastic Surgery, we are in the business of helping people look and feel their very best. And while we work hard to enhance our patients’ existing beauty through aesthetic and surgical procedures, we make sure that every patient is mentally prepared to handle the outcomes of their procedures…before we give the “green light.”

What does that mean?

It means that you have to have realistic expectations for the outcome of your plastic surgery. You have to understand that simply having a procedure won’t change who you are on the inside – it’s not a guarantee of increased happiness. In most cases using cosmetic surgery to change your life won’t work, but it may help to boost your self-confidence and make you feel better in your own skin.

Most importantly, you must want to change for yourself…not to please someone else.

The majority of Dr. Fan's patients are happy with the results of their procedures. If you are interested in adding one more thing to be happy about to your list, contact us at 77plasticsurgery.com or 415-655-7546 to schedule your Cosmetic Consultation.
